The General Confrence of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is just around the corner, and there are lots of things happening in the world today. Are you ready for the change that will come? I am not forecasting anything that would be news worthy, but I am forecasting a better life, a more dedicated discipleship for the Lord Jesus Christ.

We have the blessing of reading from the October Ensign and there are a few articles that I want to make note of. The first is titled Sacred Things by C. Gary Allred. This article makes a very great point. I quote

“sacred things are to be treated with more care, given greater deference, and regarded with deeper reverence.”

This really touched me. I feel that I learned so much from my mission and through life, but when I don’t treat that knowledge with greater care, I seem to lose that great nugget. I find that when the prophets told us to take the negative media from our homes and make the places we live a holy place we will not receive the blessing of continual revelation. They really mean that. Without the continual guidance of the Holy Ghost we will lose that which we have. This is pointed out by Elder Nelson in Stand as True Millennials. He also makes the note that God has always asked His covenant children to do difficult things. This is so true.

If you find yourself wanting to be better, which God sees great potential in you, he will invite you to come unto him. He will give you rest, after you cast your burden and place it on him. I have found that this is one of the hardest things to do. He wants you to see and obtain the grand possibilities and privileges awaiting those who listen with the intent to obey.

As we near the start of conference we will find that there are lots of changes a head of us. This is the time to grasp a hold and run the gauntlet. We can do it! Take the time to believe that you can and you will. I love how Elder Nelson puts it,

“My first recommendation is to learn for yourselves who you really are. Ask your Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ how He feels about you and your mission here on earth. If you ask with real intent, over time the spirit will whisper the life-changing truth to you. Record those impressions, review then often, and follow through with exactness.”

This truth is amazing. It can be done. I am so excited for this weekend, so I may find greater truth and that my life will change for the better. I love my Savior and I pray that I might please my Father in Heaven this day by following the promptings I receive for my life and build the future that I always wanted. For I can Live the Life I Always Wanted!

I will end with this quote from Elder Nelson:

“I promise you that when you begin to catch even a glimpse of how your Heavenly Father sees you and what He is counting on you to do for Him, your life will never be the same!”
