WOW WHAT A YEAR! This last year has been absolutely crazy! This last year was the year of the 2020 world war!

Some might say that this world war was with a microscopic critter called the COVID-19 virus (image https://www.cdc.gov/media/subtopic/images.htm) that was released on the whole globe. And maybe it was. It certainly made a huge impact to many! There were many that suffered physically, emotionally, financially, and even spiritually.

It is so hard to not have been affected in some way from the ripples that this year made. I am sure that there are many challenges still to come but I think we can all say that we can do this!

I would like to share a bit from what I have learned from the small challenges I have faced this year.

This few months were filled with sorrow, and challenges. My family lost a grandfather, and grandmother. We have felt that we have lost other family members to the greatest sickness of separation. Some, divorce and some offence. We hope that some will come back and some will allow us to continue to be a part of their lives.

Then there are is the physically separation we have put ourselves through to be more socially distant. This has really taken a toll on my family as we are all very close. In the name of health we have emotionally struggled to keep ourselves together.

There have been spiritual challenges too. The most missed blessing is the temple. It has been hard to not have this constant replenishing found at the Holy House of The Lord. It has been hard but also rewarding. I have now been more exited to return than I have ever had before. There soon will be a day when these blessings will return in full.

The beginning of the year in 2020 my oldest boy chose to be baptized in to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This has been such a blessing for us. He is so excited for his younger siblings to receive this blessing too. He so kindly teaches them of what they can do to prepare for that moment. It is going to be a fun ride because they are going to be so close together! We love it!

Now that I think about it the best thing that seems to be comming to mind is that we had a chance this year to look for the beauty and the blessings. I feel that because of that I have found so many things that have helped us get were we are at today.

My wife encuraged me to finish our bathroom remodel so we could make the bathroom space much more functional, and becuse of that I love my bathroom now. It makes me feel so good to know that I can do things that seem hard but in the end are so rewarding!

Over all I believe this will be the year that we talk about many years to come. This was definately a year to remember.

If you look at your life prayerfully, I believe you will see many ways in which the Lord has been guiding you through this time of hardship.
